What Keyless-Entry Programming Covers
Keyless entry generally refers to electronic lock and unlock functions provided by a remote or smart key. On many vehicles these functions are related to—but technically separate from—the transponder or immobilizer authorization used to start the engine.
A replacement remote therefore needs to be compatible with the vehicle, and a remote that does not work may need diagnosis rather than immediate programming. Battery condition, button damage, board faults and synchronization can produce similar symptoms.
Replacement Remote Programming
We check the replacement remote against the supported vehicle system before programming. Frequency, board type and market specification can matter even when two remotes have similar cases.
Existing Remote Stopped Working

A traditional remote may unlock the doors while a separate transponder authorizes engine starting. A smart key can combine proximity entry, remote functions and immobilizer authorization in one device.
Because these functions overlap, describing the exact symptom is more useful than simply asking for “key programming.” Tell us what still works and what does not.
For replacement keys, we can also advise whether mechanical blade cutting is required. Many remotes and smart keys contain a physical blade for emergency access even when everyday use is electronic.

Keyless Entry Programming and Diagnosis
Keyless entry can refer to remote button operation or proximity-based passive entry depending on the vehicle. Programming only helps when the key and vehicle system are compatible and the underlying fault is actually registration-related.
Remote Entry vs. Passive Entry
Traditional remote entry requires button presses to lock or unlock. Passive or proximity entry can detect a smart key near the vehicle. These systems should not be treated as identical when diagnosing a fault.

Compatibility First
Replacement remotes and smart keys can differ by frequency, board type, part number and market. A case that looks correct can contain incompatible electronics.
Send vehicle details and photos or identifiers from the existing key before buying a replacement.
Battery and Hardware Checks
Weak batteries, worn buttons, water damage and board faults can cause keyless functions to fail. Programming cannot repair physical electronics.
A vehicle-side receiver, antenna or central-locking problem can also imitate a key fault. Diagnosis should come before repeated programming attempts.
Adding or Replacing a Keyless Remote
A compatible replacement may need registration to the vehicle, and a mechanical emergency blade may also need cutting. The exact procedure depends on the vehicle.
